OrthoCarolina Urgent Care

Premier Care When You Need it Most

By OrthoCarolina January 13, 2014

When my boys were little I was always amazed that I escaped toddler-hood without any stitches, broken bones or other traditional little boy traumas. Well, I may have escaped toddler trauma but it caught up with me. Our first trip to an OrthoCarolina Urgent Care came from my middle kiddo, a back yard game of soccer on a Saturday ended with a broken elbow. It was our first trip to OrthoCarolina and I was dreading the experience. I was pleasantly surprised by our visit, when most of us think of urgent cares, we think long waits, sub-par service and an all around painful experience. The OrthoCarolina office we visited was amazing, there was nothing different than visiting a traditional doctor's office. The wait was not crazy long, the service was amazing, the staff attentive and the doctors we saw the best of the best. We ended up visiting the OrthoCarolina Urgent Care several times that year, between cast issues on the weekend and a second injury (broken ankle during football) late one evening, we became regulars at the Matthews location. As a matter of fact, the X-ray tech we saw remembered my son's name! Each visit was great, I never felt like I was compromising my son's care by visiting an urgent care, I never once felt like I was getting the bottom rung staff because it was a weekend. We received excellent care, I have used the urgent care services myself for a shoulder injury. I can without reservation recommend OrthoCarolina's Urgent Care offices (I have amazing things to tell you about their offices but that's a story for another day!) OrthoCarolina is the leading provider of orthopedic care in our area, each year several of their doctors are included in Charlotte Magazine's list of Top Doctors, there are 13 listed this year alone. We asked OrthoCarolina to share some information about their urgent care's with you so that you can make the best decision for your family, the scoop on locations and what you can expect when you visit one of their locations. It’s the day after your son’s baseball game, and he’s complaining of serious shoulder pain. He’s having trouble moving and one side seems to be much more restricted than the other. You know it could be just sore from overuse and too much pitching, but you’re not sure how serious it is. Plus, it’s a Sunday, your doctor’s office is closed, and you don’t want to sit an emergency room for hours.

·
OrthoCarolina’s OUC's are open 7 days a week, including evening weekday hours and daytime weekend hours, at locations across the Charlotte region.

·       You can see a provider without an appointment, after normal business hours and on weekends.

·       As an alternative to an ER, you receive better, faster care, at a lesser cost.

·       The quality of treatment, providers, and state-of-the-art equipment are on par with a normal visit to an OrthoCarolina office.

OrthoCarolina’s Urgent Care facilities are open Monday—Friday; 5:30 p.m.—9:00 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday 10:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m.  For quick reference, you can find OrthoCarolina’s Orthopedic Urgent Care Reference Sheet.
