Fast forward to last spring and a family trip to Charleston to visit some friends, their son wanted to go to Sky Zone for his birthday, i had never heard of Sky Zone but when I found out it was an indoor trampoline park I shuddered inside. When we first arrived at Sky Zone I was struck by how organized it was, the check in was smooth, the sky socks that you get are just awesome (OK i would wear them around the house as slippers they are so comfy) but the best part for me was the staggered entrance times, they only allow a certain number of kids onto the park at a time, you get a bounce start and end time that helps to ensure there is no over crowding. The Charlotte location will have a capicity of 150 guests so reservations are strongly suggested, you can also fill out the waiver online ahead of time to help you get jumping faster!
When we actually got to the trampolines I was impressed with how well staffed they were and that the staff was really monitoring the kids (not texting their friends while they were standing on a trampoline) to make sure they stayed in their boxed off area, that big kids weren't falling all over little kids and ensuring that kids were able to have as much fun as they could in a safe setting. I became a fan, I actually told my friend if we had Sky Zone in Charlotte I would take my kids. Well I got my wish! Sky Zone will open in Charlotte the end of August right across from Carolina Place Mall on Centrum Pkwy! Sky Zone offers so many advantages, the special grip socks that everone has to wear ensures that your kiddo won't be barefoot or in danger of having their feet smashed by another kiddo who is wearing tennis shoes. The controlled entrance and exit times ensure the trampolines are not over crowded and size separation, they make sure that kids of all ages are able to bounce safely! Safety:
- “Have Fun, Fly Safe” is Sky Zone’s most important mantras. Sky Zone implements various strategies to ensure a safe experience for all its guests. Court Monitors: Highly trained court monitors are stationed strategically throughout the park to monitor all guests and ensure they are following all the rules. Court monitors are also responsible for delivering the entire set of rules to each park guest. These monitors also facilitate activities and games while answering all guest questions.
- Size separation policy: The court monitors strictly enforce a size separation policy to keep large and small jumpers a safe distance apart.
- Court capacity: With a one jumper per square rule, Sky Zone has the lowest court capacity in the industry to mitigate risk to jumpers and provide better guest experience on the courts. With fewer jumpers on the court they have more freedom to move around and experience the playing courts.
- SkySocks: Sky Zone has created SkySocks that all jumpers are required to wear in order to enter a Sky Zone court. These specially designed socks offer middle of the foot support, rubber grips on the bottom for traction, a tight fit to prevent slipping and a fun takeaway for guests
