Grace Thomas, the American Girl of 2015 is trying to navigate her way between obligations to her friends and her family. When summer break rolls around, Grace and her friends have come up with a plan to generate money to buy new bikes, these plans are put to an end when Grace's mom announces that they are headed to Paris for the summer to help at her uncle's pastry shop. Paris turns out to be more challenging than Grace expects, her cousin is not warming up to her and her dreams of baking in her uncle's shop are dashed after her first day there. Grace soon learns that if you open yourself up to new experiences there is a lot to be learned and it can take her passion for baking to a whole new level.
When Grace returns from Paris she is faced with the new challenge, her grandparents are in danger of losing their beloved bakery, Grace finds a way to use her newly learned skills from her trip to Paris to try and save the bakery.
