Metrolina Gymnastics is a gymnastics training center to help all levels of gymnasts to become the best athletes they can be, but also gaining invaluable life skills through the process of gymnastics instruction and training. Metrolina Gymnastics classes are smaller with an 8:1 student to coach ratio, emphasizing quality over quantity. Owner Nick Baker and his staff believe that each child has a God-given talent and they help to assist them in finding their specific talents and develop them through professional coaching and training.
Owner Nick Baker is a Charlotte native who graduated from Charlotte Latin School. As a junior gymnast in North Carolina he became a 9 Time North Carolina All-Around State Champion, a 2 Time Southeastern Regional All-Around Champion, and a USA Junior National Champion on the Still Rings. These victories won him a charter membership to the North Carolina Men’s Gymnastics Hall of Fame. With these accolades, Nick was recruited by many NCAA College teams but decided on his college career at the University of Illinois. There he competed as an All-Arounder, won various titles, and was voted as the MVP for three consecutive years. After his training as a gymnast, Nick became the Assistant Men’s Gymnastics Coach at the University of Illinois. It was there, training elite level gymnasts that Nick decided to work at the club level of gymnastics. This is where Nick began his process as a professional in the world of gymnastics to help juniors become the best people they can be using the principles of athletic training.
