One of the benefits of traveling for soccer is that we are able to scope out great parks that are outside of our immediate radius. One of the best I have come across is Frank Lisk State Park in Concord. This 238-acre park was once home to the Stonewall Training School, visitors to the park can see relics from the old school.
In addition to the soccer complex, Frank Lisk State Park has 18 holes of mini golf, paddleboats, disc golf, playgrounds, picnic areas and hiking trails.

Dan Nichols Park is a must! If you haven't been to Dan Nichols Park you are missing one of the best places to wear your kids out in the summer! Gem mining, an aquarium, water zone, train, nature center, barnyard, animals and paddle boats are just a sample of what you can do. Most activities start at $1 and I promise your kids will fall asleep in the car after a day here!
