By now you have either seen the giant nets off of 485 or heard that Topgolf has made it's way to Charlotte. It makes sense that avid golfers would flock to Topgolf but what about families? If you're planning to take your kids to Topgolf here are some tips to make the trip easy~
How it Works:
Think live action golf video game, Topgolf is basically a driving range on steroids. The object is to hit your microchipped ball into one of the targets on the ground. Depending on where your ball lands on the target, you get a specific number of points.Â
There are 3 levels with 120 climate-controlled bays, depending on the age of your kids you will most likely want to be on the first or second floor, there is no guard to keep you from falling off, just a net to between your green space and the ground.Â
Depending on the time of day you go, the cost ranges from $25-$45 per hour for the bay and up to 6 people. There is a $5 one-time membership fee.Â
Clubs are provided and they have kid-sized clubs, you are also welcome to bring your own clubs.
There are pool tables on the first floor and a kid room with activities and foosball table on the third floor.Â
The restaurant is full service and has a kids menu.Â

Tips for your visit:
If you have young kids opt for the first floor, there is space for them to move around and u shaped couch for them to sit on, we opted for the second floor so that my 9 year old could catch a little air and help launch her golf balls a little further.Â
Go early, if you go before noon it is only $25 an hour for up to 6 people in a bay, Â you can extend the time just make sure you extend before noon otherwise you will pay $35 an hour. You can also extend for 30 minutes, you don't have to do a full hour when you extend.Â
They do not take reservations, getting there on the early side will help you get in faster.Â
An hour and a half will be good for most families. We were able to play 3 games in that time and my kids were pretty over it when we had @15 minutes.
Order a snack or stay for lunch! They have a great menu with lots of kids friendly options.Â
Ask for kids clubs, if they are not offered, ask! They have kids sized clubs that your kids can use.Â

Based on other locations websites, it looks like they will offer summer camps and family specials at some point. Topgolf was definitely a fun way to spend the morning and we will go back, it is fun enough that you could go a couple of times and your kids will not be tired of it.Â
Topgolf is located off of 485 at 8024 Savoy Corporate Dr, they open at 9 AM M-F and Sunday and they open at 8 AM on Saturday's.Â
