A Standout Community with Fa-la-la Family Events This Season

Don't Miss These Holiday Events!

By MillBridge November 13, 2017

Whether you’re in the market for a new home or looking to keep the kiddos busy without having to trek into the city, the MillBridge neighborhood in Waxhaw has you covered.

ICYMI: #TopNotchCommunity

At the intersection of small town living and big city convenience is an amenities-packed community on 900 acres of tree-lined streets in Waxhaw. You see, at MillBridge, you buy more than a house. You gain a lifestyle of community engagement, lifelong learning, entertainment, and a full-time lifestyle director to help you arrange all the fun. Pocket parks and trails are just steps off the beaten path, while the resort-style amenities (lazy river, three pools & fitness center) make you feel like you’re on vacation year-round. When you want quick access to the city, no problem. Minutes away are top-notch schools, high-end office parks and some of the best retail and restaurants around!

And we’re not the only ones that are fans of this residential master planned community by Landeavor. The North Carolina Home Builders Association recently awarded the community a STARS Award for Community of the Year. By the way, this accolade comes on the heels of the Home Builders Association of Greater Charlotte’s major achievement in market excellence (MAME) Community of the Year earlier this year. Family-Centered Holiday Events Open to the Public

Social is MillBridge’s middle name so they don’t close their trademark events to the public. The holidays especially are a time to fellowship with everyone in the area – and how convenient that the events take place in the city outskirts (i.e., no need to drive the kids 30 minutes into Uptown). Join in for these upcoming festivities. Stay up to date on future events at https://millbridge-nc.com/events/.

Nov23 – Turkey Trot (8 a.m.)

Lace up your shoes and get a jumpstart on burning off your Thanksgiving meal by running or walking four miles along the tree-lined private roads in the neighborhood. Children under the age of 10 may also participate in a free Kids’ Turkey Dash prior to the adult Trot. Proceeds from the race benefit Relay for Life. Register at https://racesonline.com/events/the-turkey-trot-at-millbridge.

Dec. 2 - Craft Fair & Open House (11 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

Shop for holiday crafts and decorations from local artists. While searching for the perfect décor to deck your halls, stop by the MillBridge clubhouse to sample holiday treats and discover what the community has to offer.

Dec. 9 - Light Up MillBridge (5:30-8:30 p.m.)

Nothing can get you in the spirit more than a rare covered bridge sparkling with thousands of luminaries placed one by one by members of the community. You’ll be able to visit with Santa, take a horse-drawn carriage ride, assemble crafts and savor delicious hot chocolate and s’mores. Lights, wreaths and greenery adorn the community house and line the streets. And, no holiday celebration would be complete without a sky-scraping, bright Christmas tree.
