Sometimes, cooking just isn’t in the cards but ordering in isn’t exactly right either. You know you all love pizza, but with four family members (or more) you can’t come to a decision on what you want and ordering 4 large pizzas isn’t in the budget. Hawthorne’s Pizza has the perfect solution for you! You get 4 pizzas for $25 and you get to make it at home as a family fun night!
We each, respectively, tried it last week and it was a blast! We ordered our kit with the toppings our kids (and grownups) preferred and made it a family cook-in night. The kits come with four balls of dough for four crusts, enough sauce and cheese for four pizzas and two toppings. It also comes with its own flour, so you really don’t need to reach into your pantry for anything.
Instructions are on the box and super simple to use. But, just in case you aren’t familiar with the best crust stretching methodology, our friends at Hawthorne’s made you this video with easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions on how to create the perfect crust.
As for the toppings, both families went with the meat options, but anything on the menu is fair-game. We even got creative and made two white pizzas with our own alfreddo sauce and it was DELICIOUS.
Once we popped the pizzas in the oven, we tried out the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream cake kit that Hawthorne’s is offering for $25. It comes with a 9” 2-layer vanilla/chocolate ice cream cake that - in honesty - would have been delicious on its own! Along with that, they provide you with the perfect whipped topping as base frosting and a piping bag of a colored frosting AND three different toppings: mini M&Ms, crushed oreos and sprinkles (or jimmies, depending on from where you came!). As for what’s next for Hawthorne’s Pizza, they shared with us that they plan to keep their customers and employees as safe as possible as they slowly transition to the "new normal." Because they are still awaiting the state's orders for reopening, they are unsure of what that "new normal" will look like. What they will assure customers is that providing a safe dining environment is paramount to them.
