Give Your Child the Chance to Take Back Their Summer

By YMCA Charlotte April 12, 2021

Summer is fast approaching and if your kids are like mine, we need summer more than ever before! Now is the time for children to try new things, make new friends, get active, and spend days doing what they love.

What kind of summer does your child want to have? Do they want to go on adventure hikes, sail on a lake, take center stage or create cool science experiments? I have found so many cool day camp options at the YMCA of Greater Charlotte to really make this summer an adventure.

Far Away Adventure is Not Far From Your Front Door

The YMCA of Greater Charlotte has hundreds of day camps to choose from at many convenient locations across the area. Every single week at day camp offers so many unique themes and opportunities for preschoolers, school-age children, and teens. From athletics and arts to zip-lines and Zumba dancing, there is something for every child at the Y!

All-new Digital Day Camp Guide

This year, easily navigating summer camp options on a digital platform is more important than ever. The YMCA of Greater Charlotte launched their new digital camp guide this spring and it’s made searching and registering for camps even easier! You can filter by branch, age, camp category, week, and more. You also have easy access to all the important camp information right at your fingertips.

Campers Will Have Fun While Staying Safe

The YMCA of Greater Charlotte has been adaptable and innovative to ensure their camper’s safety. All YMCA of Greater Charlotte day camps have implemented:

  • Facility Sanitation: The Y has hired extra staff to perform a thorough cleaning of all of their facilities. They will even disinfect every item that campers are going to share between each use.
  • Coronavirus Training for Staff: Every staff member participates in coronavirus-specific training during their 30-hour training plan.
  • Frequent Camper Health Checks: Campers will be monitored when they first get to camp and each day after that.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: All staff will wear face covers when indoors and when six feet of distance isn’t possible outdoors.
  • Handwashing Stations: Handwashing stations have been installed all around camps.

Give your kids the chance to unplug this summer. Whether they’re laughing with friends, growing in confidence and character, or trying something new, they’ll safely experience the magic of summer. Explore all of the summer day camps at the Y and choose one that’s perfect for your child!
