Celebrate National Women's Month! Meet Jennifer Hankey

Support Women Owned Small Business The Green Queen

March 11, 2022

In honor of National Women's Month, we are thrilled to be able to introduce you to entrepreneur mom, Jennifer Hankey, owner of Green Queen. I have been a customer of Green Queen for many years and not only do they provide excellent service, I love that I am supporting a women owned small business.

Jennifer wants to celebrate and thank all women on National Women's Month! ! Moms, business owners, working moms, sisters, daughters, partners, and more, thank you for all you do in our community! Here is to you this month! In celebration of this month I encourage you to support all women owned businesses. Search and ask around to find out what businesses are owned by women and support them during these difficult post covid times. Local support means the world to small business owners.

Jennifer started Green Queen when her daughter was born with 19 food allergies and covered in eczema. While researching what was making her daughter so sick, she learned that 54% of children now have a chronic health condition, childhood cancer is the second leading cause of death, asthma, allergies and autoimmune disease are skyrocketing. What in our environment is making our kids so sick? Mom on a mission, Jennifer decided to launch safe, organic services to replace the services we are already receiving in our homes. Green Queen offers organic cleaning, eco indoor pest, organic mosquito services and termite! Green Queen is different as it is one of the few female owned pest control companies in the state (and country!), green and gets 5 star reviews for service!

Jennifer comes from a family of female entrepreneurs. Raised by a single mom, Jennifer was moved as a child when her parents divorced. Making $12,000 a year as a school teacher, her mom Joyce, was forced to move and start new to make enough money to support two children as a single mom. She started selling car phones in 1985 when they were $2,000 and took up the whole trunk of your car. In 6 years her mom was able to build a woman centered and driven business of 50 women selling phones. A leader of women hiring in her time.

Here is to all the women and their contributions to our community! Let's celebrate!
