The holiday season is upon us and now begins the barrage of house parties, dinner parties and holiday gatherings. No matter the occasion, you can't show up empty-handed. For those of us who either are not gifted in the kitchen or just simply don't have the time, there are some great spots around the Charlotte Metro area from which you can grab the PERFECT host or hostess gift.

We're NUTS for a good festive nut! Overhead station carries so many unique and awesome gifts, but this is an easy one for your host or hostess to set out immediately during the party.
The Mercantile ~ 153 E. and 130 W. White Street, Rock Hill
One of the things we love most about the Mercantile is that they really do have everything. As a puzzle-loving house, these are such fun gifts. Winters days can be long - especially if its too cold to head outside - so give your host or hostess something fun to do when the party is over!
The Southern Nest ~ 7716 Charlotte Hwy, Fort Mill
Pickleball is all the rage and The Southern Nest understood the assignment! These gifts are perfect for your pickleball-loving hosts! The store has tons of other great gifts but these stood out and made us chuckle!
Chocolat Boutique ~ 1012 Market Street, Fort Mill
This is our favorite stop in Baxter Village - with so many beautiful chocolate treats from which to choose. Showing up with something delicious has never looked so pretty!

With a super-fun assortment of holiday (and year-round) items, Swoozies is one of the Charlotte-area's most favored gift spots! Pop in and grab custom note cards, drink wear or something to just make your host smile!
Paper Skyscraper ~ 30 East Blvd, Charlotte
Kitschy or traditional, you'll find the perfect gift at Paper Skyscraper in South End. I love stopping in for a fun card, but you can also find cook books, stem wear and other festive gifts on their shelves.
Eliza B's ~ 8040 Providence Rd, Charlotte
From the latest in Scout Bags to these super cute cocoa mugs, you will find the perfect gift at this Arboretum staple. They've expanded into a larger space to accomodate even more gifts - and they wrap! Why wouldn't you pop in?
Iva Jean's Fudge ~ multiple locations throughout Charlotte + Holiday Markets
We met Debbie when she joined us for our holiday gift guide years ago and haven't been able to stop nibbling on her delicious fudge ever since! Packaged in the perfect gift-giving tin, this fudge is always a hit. Whether you want a more festive flavor like "Reindeer Tracks" or "Grinch" or something more traditional - think vanilla, praline or cookies and cream - your host and hostess will be delighted you brought this and it won't last the night!
Winestore ~ 720 Governor Morrison St, Charlotte
Want to bring a bottle but not sure which to get? Winestore offers an incredible selection with none of the "intimidation". I don't know my wines - and some of my hosts and hostesses definitely do! So popping in here to grab a bottle they are sure to love makes my life easier!

Nestled in Monore, this sweet little gift shop has home furnishings and all the trimmings to make your host and hostess ooh and ahh over your gift. From the practical to the decorative, this is a must-check while in Monroe.
Gingham Girls Cake Rolls ~ 215 N. Hayne Street, Monroe
If you've never tried a cake roll before, you are MISSING OUT! We popped in here this summer and our socks were blown right off our feet - and your host or hostess will feel the same way! Lots of holiday flavors for every style party you are attending - and you can grab a single-slice for yourself too.
Silver Lining Boutique ~ 114 N. Main, Monroe
With the biggest selection of Bogg Bags to great holiday touches, show up carrying exactly what your host wants! We love this store for its selection of gifts and the personal touches the staff brings.
Refresh Gift Shop ~ 318 S. Main, Waxhaw
From bath bombs and relaxation items to luminaries, tea towels to candles, Refresh Gift Shop in Waxhaw is always on our list for great gifts. The mother-daughter duo who owns the store bring together traditional and kitschy gifts, as well as locally sourced and made items unique to Waxhaw.

With 16 different tea gift sets, you're certain to find something for your host and hostess at the Uptown Tea Shop.
