The LOTUS Project seeks to empower humans of all ages to rise up and conquer obstacles, for themselves, for others, for their community. Using the arts as a vehicle, our work focuses on self empowerment, relationship building, and community advocacy. Through creative expression, we look inward to discover ourselves; we look outward to learn about others; and we look forward to changing the world, one human at a time. Our LOTUS Arts Summer Intensive is a unique summer camp experience, designed to provide a creative, nurturing and INCLUSIVE environment in which campers will work with highly trained professionals to produce two full musicals! We offer two different sessions, which are three weeks each. At the end of each session, there will be public performances of the show for friends, family and the larger CLT community. Camp days are full of rehearsal for the show, opportunities to work on acting, singing, dancing, playwriting and improvisation, as well as visual arts activities and introductory theatrical design/tech activities. EVERY camper registered is cast in the show. There are opportunities for performers of every skill, age, and experience level!
